BDA Swim Academy Details
Introducing the new BDA Swim Academy for children aged 6 to 13 years
Our age group swimming program builds a solid foundation in swimming skills, confidence, and technique while fostering a love for the water in a safe and enjoyable small group environment.
Program Structure
The BDA Swim Academy will offer three levels of small group swim programs, each with the ability to progress to the next group when the swimmer is developmentally ready.
Each level will focus on specific skill sets that are age-appropriate for that level.
Programs will run in September, October, and November (December TBD).
Lessons are offered on specific days of the week.
Register for the day and time of your choice.
Ability to register for multiple days per week.
3 Developmental Levels to LEARN, BUILD, and PRACTICE
*Level 1: LEARN - Intro to Swim Skills and Strokes
Learn water safety, stroke technique (for all 4 strokes), and foundational water movement skills.
*Level 2: BUILD - Stroke Development
Build on your skills and efficiency in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Let’s also build on starts, turns, and Individual Medley skills.
*Level 3: PRACTICE - Elite Age Group
Advanced practice of all of the skills learned in Levels 1 & 2, with an increased focus on learning how to train, building confidence, and becoming a well-rounded athlete.
*Option for swimmers in each level to enter local swimming competitions in the developmental or competitive stream.

Focus of Each Term and Each Lesson
Fundamentals of Swimming: Technique, safety skills, starts, turns, and mindset tools.
Stroke Development: Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly skills for all swimmers.
Endurance and Fitness: Training techniques, drills, and sets to improve endurance at all levels.
Competitive Readiness: An optional stream to compete in local competitions at the development or competitive events, if available.
Class Sizes
Our low class numbers allow for more feedback and support to each child, promoting individual progress, confidence and personalized attention.
When possible, time will be allocated for video analysis and video review, resulting in quick acquisition and retention of skills, especially for visual learners.
Level 1 will have a maximum of 2 swimmers per lesson.
Level 2 will have a maximum of 3 swimmers per lesson.
Level 3 will have a maximum of 4 swimmers per lesson.
Schedule and Location
All BDA Swim Academy sessions will take place at the Bermuda National Sport Centre, Roberts Ave., Pembroke, BDA.

Enrollment for the Swim Academy is now open.
Parents are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.
