Introducing the new BDA Swim Academy for children aged 5 to 13 years

Our age group swimming programs build a solid foundation in swimming skills and technique while fostering a love for the water in a safe and enjoyable small group environment.

Start Date

Monday, June 30th, for 6 weeks and ending on Saturday, August 16th.

*There will be no swimming Cup Match week from July 28 to August 3rd.

Fall programs will begin in September 2025. Stay tuned.

Program Structure

The BDA Swim Academy will offer 2 group options with 3 levels in each group, with the ability to progress to the next group when and if the swimmer is developmentally ready at the end of each term/session.

Each group will focus on specific skill sets that are developmentally age-appropriate for that level.

The 2 group options with 3 levels in each program are as follows:

• Elite Age Group Program: Level 1, 2, 3

• Age Group Development Program: Level 1, 2, 3

Each term and each lesson will focus on:

• Fundamentals of Swimming: Technique, safety skills, starts, turns, and mindset tools.

• Stroke Development: Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly for all swimmers.

• Endurance and Fitness: Training techniques, drills, and sets to improve endurance at all levels.

• Competitive Readiness: An optional stream to compete in local competitions at the development or competitive events, if available.

Class Sizes

To ensure personalized attention, classes will be limited in size from a maximum of 4 swimmers in the Age Group Development Program to a maximum of 6 swimmers in the Elite Age Group Program.

Our low class numbers allow for more feedback and support to each child, promoting individual progress and confidence. It allows time for video analysis and visual feedback, resulting in quick acquisition and retention of skills.

Schedule and Location

The Swim Academy sessions will all take place at our state-of-the-art facilities, conveniently located at the National Sport Centre in Bermuda.

Classes will be offered year-round and will coincide with school terms.

Additional training sessions will be offered during school hoildays, where possible.

Enrollment for the Swim Academy is now open.

Parents are encouraged to register early, as space is limited.
